Order of Service Sheets (Memorial)

More about Memorial Order of Service Printing

A memorial order of service sheet is a printed folded booklet given to mourners at a funeral or memorial service. It outlines the sequence of the ceremony so attendees can follow along and understand what is happening throughout the service.

printready.live produces memorial order of service sheets as folded four-page A5 booklets, printed in full colour on 350gsm premium cardstock, scored and folded from a single sheet, and supplied in quantities from 25 to 200.

This format provides a clear, structured guide to the service without the complexity of a multi-page mass book.

What Are Memorial Order of Service Sheets Used For?

Memorial order of service sheets are used at a wide range of funeral and memorial ceremonies across Ireland, particularly where a full Catholic mass book is not required.

They are commonly used for:

• Civil funerals
• Humanist ceremonies
• Cremation services
• Graveside services
• Protestant funeral services (Church of Ireland, Presbyterian, Methodist)
• Memorial services held after the funeral

They provide mourners with a simple way to follow the order of events and participate where appropriate.

A5 Folded Funeral Order of Service Booklet Format

The memorial order of service sheet is produced as a single A4 sheet folded in half to create a four-page A5 booklet.

The structure typically includes:

• Front cover with photograph, name, and dates
• Inside pages with the order of ceremony, readings, and music
• Back cover with closing words, acknowledgements, or a final verse

This compact format is suitable for services where the content can comfortably fit within a short printed guide.

Memorial Order of Service Sheets for Civil and Humanist Funerals

Civil and humanist ceremonies often follow a personalised structure, rather than a fixed liturgical format.

A printed order of service sheet helps provide clarity for mourners attending these types of services by outlining:

• The sequence of events
• Who is speaking or participating
• Readings, reflections, or tributes
• Music and other elements of the ceremony

Because these ceremonies are highly individual, the order of service sheet becomes both a practical guide and a keepsake of a unique and personal farewell.

350gsm Full Colour Printed Order of Service Sheets

printready.live produces memorial order of service sheets on 350gsm premium cardstock with full colour printing throughout.

This ensures:

• A sturdy, high-quality feel when held
• Clear reproduction of photographs and design elements
• Durability during handling throughout the service
• A professional finish appropriate for funeral stationery

The folded A5 booklet maintains its structure during use and remains presentable as a keepsake after the ceremony.

Designing Funeral Order of Service Sheets

A well-designed order of service sheet should prioritise clarity and readability.

Typical design elements include:

• A prominent cover photograph
• Clear headings for each section of the ceremony
• Legible font sizes suitable for all attendees
• A logical flow that mirrors the order of the service

The layout should allow mourners to easily follow along without confusion, particularly in services with multiple readings, tributes, or musical pieces.

Difference Between Order of Service Sheets and Mass Books

Order of service sheets differ from funeral mass books in both structure and purpose.

• Memorial mass books are multi-page booklets (12–20 pages) used for full Catholic funeral masses with structured liturgy
• Order of service sheets are four-page folded booklets used for shorter or non-mass ceremonies

For Catholic funeral masses, a mass book is typically used. For civil, humanist, cremation, or non-religious services, an order of service sheet is the appropriate format.

Memorial Order of Service Printing in Ireland

Memorial order of service sheets are widely used across Ireland for both urban and regional funerals, including Dublin, Galway, Cork, and beyond.

They are often included as part of a full memorial stationery set alongside memorial cards, acknowledgement cards, and bookmarks. Using consistent imagery, typography, and colour across all items creates a cohesive presentation for the family and mourners.
